ITINERARY:
DAY 1. ATHENS
Upon arrival in Athens international Airport, you will meet our representative and he will transfer you in your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Do not forget to visit Plaka, the traditional neighborhood under the Acropolis in order to have dinner in a traditional Greek tavern. Overnight in the Hotel of your choice.
DAY 2. ATHENS.
Morning sightseeing tour of Athens including all famous historical monuments: the Panathinaic Stadium, the ex. Royal Palace, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library and the Constitution Square(Syntagma). Tour ends with visit at the Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum (except Mondays). The rest of the day is at leisure. In the afternoon you can have an optional tour to Sounion in order to visit the cosmopolitan suburbs of Athens.At the end of this magnificent route next to the seaside you can visit the Temple of Poseidon,who was the God of the Sea according the ancient Greek Religion.Overnight in the Hotel of your choice.
DAY 3. ATHENS & NIGHT LIFE
Free morning in Athens for shopping ! Enjoy all the special offer that you can find in Athens maket ! Do not forget also to visit the Flea Market in Monastiraki area in order to buy some local souvenirs and of cource to bargain the price of them according the Greek tradition. In the evening: Athens by Night dinner and tour including drive through cosmopolitan suburbs of Athens and Piraeus port.The tour starts with a visit to Greece’s principal commercial port of Piraeus, passing by the most important points of the city (City Hall,picturesque yacht’s harbor of microlimano etc) Following the principal avenues and passing by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, National Garden, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Catholic Cathedral, Academy, university, National Library, Old Parliament we arrive at Plaka. Short pleasant walk through the old unique Athens city to one of the popular taverns for dinner with live bouzouki music and Greek folk Dances. Overnight in the Hotel of your choice.
DAY 4. ATHENS-AEGINA/POROS/HYDRA
Early in the morning you will be transferred from Athens center to Piraeus port for the embarkation in a luxurius cruiseship for the one day cruise to the three islands Aegina-Poros- Hydra.At 8h15 the ship sails for a unique Greek cruise at the three beautiful islands of the Saronic Gulf. Within 2 hours, we will arrive to the island of Poros, the smallest of the three Greek islands, separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow strait and offering a most enchanting view of Poros Town. Your time at leisure in Poros will be about 50 minutes. Immediately upon the ships departure from Poros, lunch will be served. An Hour and 15 minutes later we enter the port of Hydra, whose amphitheater shape once served as a safe shelter for Saronic Pirates. From the decks, you will be able to admire the very special architecture and dramatic landscapes of this island, whose old traditional stone houses and mansions silently stand witness to a long and turbulent history. You will have about 30 minutes to enjoy the unique charms of Hydra.Aegina is the largest of the three Greek islands of our today island hopping. Apart from its harbor there are numerous interesting sites to discover on the island and therefore we propose 3 optional tours or enjoy a walk or horse-carriage ride around the town or relax in one of the harbor’s charming waterfront coffee shops. Late in the afternoon, arrival at Piraeus Port and transfer to Athens.Overnight in the hotel of your choice.
DAY 5. ATHENS/DELPHI
In the morning you will depart a Full day Guided Excursion Tour to the Archaeological site of DELPHI. Drive through the fertile plain of Beotia, crossing the towns of Thebes connected with the tragedy of King Oedipus-Levadia (short stop at Iniohos). Arrive at Delphi, the center of Ancient World –the <> (Navel of Earth)- whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic World. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios. Visit the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo and the museum containing such masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer, the famous athlete Aghias, the Naxian Sphinx and the Statue of Antinoos. Lunch in the modern village of Delphi. Later in the afternoon return to Athens by the same route of ARACHOVA, built on the south slopes of Parnassus, well known for its attractive hand-woven carpets, rugs and quilts, as well as for its wine and cheese. In the afternoon return to Athens. Overnight in the Hotel of your choice.
DAY 6. ATHENS/ AIRPORT
Today , after breakfast and according to your departure flight, you will be transferred to the airport.
